Kinesiology & Active Rehabilitation

KINESIOLOGY & ACTIVE REHABILITATION

Build strength. Restore function. Move forward with confidence.

Kinesiology and Active Rehabilitation at HES Collaborative Health use individualized, exercise-based programs to help you improve strength, mobility, movement, and physical function following injury or periods of reduced activity.

An active approach to rebuilding movement and function.

Active rehabilitation focuses on what your body needs to do in everyday life. Your kinesiologist will consider your current abilities, physical limitations, symptoms, and goals to develop a progressive exercise program tailored to you.

Your program may focus on strength, mobility, balance, coordination, endurance, movement patterns, and functional activities. As your abilities improve, exercises can be progressed to help you safely work toward greater independence and participation in daily life, work, recreation, or sport.

ACCIDENT RECOVERY

Supporting your return to function after a motor vehicle accident.

Injuries following a motor vehicle accident can affect strength, mobility, endurance, confidence, and the ability to perform everyday activities.

Active Rehabilitation provides a structured, progressive approach to rebuilding physical function. Your kinesiologist can work with you on exercises and activities based on your current abilities and recovery goals, with the program adjusted as you progress.

When appropriate, Active Rehabilitation can also form part of a broader care plan alongside other services at HES Collaborative Health.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A progressive plan built around what you need to do.

Initial Assessment

Your kinesiologist will discuss your injury or concerns, current activity level, functional limitations, and goals and assess relevant aspects of your movement and physical abilities.

Individualized Exercise Plan

Your rehabilitation program is developed according to your assessment and may include exercises for strength, mobility, balance, coordination, endurance, and functional movement.

Guided Rehabilitation

Your kinesiologist will guide you through exercises, monitor your response, and help you develop appropriate technique and movement strategies.

Progressive Recovery

As your abilities improve, your program can be modified and progressed to help you work toward greater function, confidence, and independence.

BETTER TOGETHER

Active rehabilitation as part of connected care.

At HES Collaborative Health, Kinesiology and Active Rehabilitation can be provided independently or, when appropriate, alongside other services within the clinic.

For example, physiotherapy may address specific injuries and movement limitations while Active Rehabilitation helps progressively rebuild strength, endurance, movement, and functional capacity.

A collaborative approach allows different aspects of your recovery to be considered while keeping your individual goals at the centre of your care.
