Thoughtful care for healthier-looking, revitalized skin.
Skin rejuvenation at HES Collaborative Health combines individualized skin care with carefully selected treatment approaches to support skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.
Your treatment is selected according to your skin, concerns, goals, and suitability, with options including microdermabrasion, microneedling with professional skin serums, and Traditional Chinese Medicine facial care.
Skin rejuvenation designed around you.
No two people’s skin is exactly the same. Age, skin type, lifestyle, previous skin concerns, environmental exposure, and individual goals can all influence what your skin needs.
At HES Collaborative Health, we do not approach skin rejuvenation as a one-size-fits-all treatment. Your skin and concerns are considered first, and treatments are selected accordingly.
Depending on your needs, your skin rejuvenation plan may incorporate modern treatments such as microdermabrasion and microneedling, professional skin serums, or Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches including facial acupuncture and customized herbal facial masks.
Different concerns require different approaches.
Depending on your skin, treatment suitability, and goals, our skin rejuvenation services may help improve the appearance of concerns such as:
- Dull or tired-looking skin
- Uneven or rough skin texture
- Areas of discoloration and pigmentation
- Enlarged or visible pores
- Acne-related scarring
- Fine lines and signs of skin aging
- Surface dryness and buildup of dead skin cells
- Overall skin tone and appearance
The appropriate treatment—and the number of treatments that may be needed—depends on the individual concern, its depth and duration, your skin, and how your skin responds.
Exfoliate. Refresh. Reveal smoother-looking skin.
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin treatment that gently exfoliates the outer surface of the skin, helping remove accumulated dead skin cells and surface buildup.
By refreshing the skin’s surface, microdermabrasion can help improve the appearance and feel of dull, rough, or uneven skin and leave the skin looking smoother and more refreshed.
Exfoliation also helps prepare the skin for moisturizers and selected professional skincare products applied afterward by removing surface buildup that can interfere with contact between topical products and the skin.
Depending on your skin and goals, microdermabrasion may be used as an individual treatment or incorporated periodically into an ongoing skin-care and rejuvenation plan.
Treatment Plan
Microdermabrasion focuses on:
- Exfoliate accumulated surface skin cells
- Improve the appearance of dull skin
- Create a smoother, softer skin surface
- Improve the appearance of uneven surface texture
- Refresh the overall appearance of the skin
- Prepare the skin for subsequently applied moisturizers and skincare products
Encouraging the skin’s natural renewal process.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that creates controlled microscopic channels in the skin. This controlled process stimulates the skin’s natural repair response and processes involved in collagen remodeling and skin renewal.
At HES Collaborative Health, microneedling is performed using a Health Canada-licensed microneedling device.
Skin Concerns Addressed With
MICRONEEDLING
- Acne-related scarring
- Uneven skin texture
- Areas of discoloration or pigmentation
- Enlarged or visible pores
- Fine lines and signs of skin aging
- Overall skin texture and appearance
Your Treatment Plan
The number of microneedling treatments needed varies from person to person.
Factors such as the type, depth, and duration of the concern, the condition of the skin, individual response to treatment, and your treatment goals can all influence the recommended treatment plan.
Long-standing pigmentation, deeper textural changes, or established acne scarring may require a series of treatments rather than a single session. Results also vary between individuals.
Professional Skin Serums
— INCLUDED IN YOUR TREATMENT
Professional skin serum is incorporated into the microneedling treatment at HES Collaborative Health as part of your treatment package.
Rather than using the same serum for every person, the product used is selected according to your skin, treatment goals, and the needs identified at the time of your appointment.
The specific professional products used may therefore vary between patients and may also change as your skin and treatment plan evolve.
A Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to facial rejuvenation.
HES Collaborative Health also offers a different approach to facial care through Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Facial acupuncture uses carefully selected acupuncture points as part of an individualized TCM treatment. Treatment may include facial points as well as other acupuncture points selected according to the person’s overall Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment.
Rather than viewing the face entirely in isolation, this approach reflects the broader TCM principle of considering the individual as a whole.
Herbal Facial Masks
Dr. Hengameh Keshvari prepares individualized herbal facial masks that can complement facial acupuncture as part of your Traditional Chinese Medicine facial treatment.
The herbal mask is selected and prepared as part of the facial treatment, bringing another aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine into the HES approach to skin and facial care.
The right treatment starts with the right approach.
Skin rejuvenation does not necessarily mean choosing one treatment and repeating it indefinitely.
Your treatment plan can take into consideration your skin, primary concerns, treatment history, goals, and response to previous treatments.
For some people, microdermabrasion may provide the level of exfoliation and skin refreshing they are seeking. Others may benefit from a series of microneedling treatments for more established textural concerns or acne scarring. Some may prefer a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach through facial acupuncture and herbal facial care.
Your plan can be reviewed over time and adjusted according to your skin and goals.
The treatment needs to be right for your skin.
Not every skin rejuvenation treatment is appropriate for every person or at every point in time.
Before treatment, we will review relevant information about your skin, health history, medications, skincare products, previous procedures, and other factors that may affect treatment suitability.
Please tell us about active skin conditions or infections, allergies or sensitivities, medications and supplements, recent cosmetic or medical skin procedures, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Treatment may need to be modified, postponed, or avoided when a particular procedure is not appropriate for your skin or health circumstances.
For microneedling in particular, temporary redness, sensitivity and other short-term skin reactions can occur following treatment. Your provider will discuss relevant precautions and aftercare with you before and after your procedure.
Your skin care begins with understanding your goals.
Consultation
We begin by discussing your skin concerns, previous treatments and skincare, relevant health information, and what you would like to achieve.
Skin & Treatment Assessment
Your skin and treatment suitability are considered before determining which approach is appropriate for you.
Personalized Treatment
Your treatment is selected according to your individual needs and may include microdermabrasion, microneedling with a selected professional serum, or TCM facial care.
Aftercare
After microdermabrasion and microneedling treatments, you will receive appropriate aftercare products to take home as part of your treatment, at no additional cost. Your practitioner will also explain how to use the products and discuss precautions appropriate to your procedure.
Ongoing Care
If a series of treatments is appropriate, your response can be reviewed over time and your treatment plan adjusted accordingly.
Modern skin rejuvenation meets Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The HES approach to skin rejuvenation brings different perspectives together within one clinic.
Modern skin treatments such as microdermabrasion and microneedling can address specific aspects of skin texture and appearance, while facial acupuncture and herbal facial care offer an approach grounded in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
These services can be provided independently. When appropriate, they can also form different parts of an individualized skin-care plan over time.
The focus remains on selecting care according to your skin, your needs, and your goals.
